A Toronto police officer from Aurora has been charged in connection with an impaired driving investigation.
On Friday at 3 a.m., Toronto police responded after a report a vehicle being driven north on Victoria Park Drive entered the intersection at Consumers Road on a green light and stopped in the intersection.
The vehicle remained in the intersection with the engine running and headlights on, Toronto police said.
Const. Adam Lourenco, 31, of Aurora, a six-year veteran of Toronto police, is charged with impaired care and control of a motor vehicle and having care and control of a vehicle with more than 80 milligrams of alcohol in his blood. He was off-duty at the time he was arrested.
The charges have not been proven in court.
He is scheduled for a court appearance June 20.
