The East York Bulldogs overcame a two-run deficit with three runs in the top of the sixth inning en route to a 4-2 victory over the Newmarket Hawks Sunday evening in the semifinal game of the Toronto Baseball Association junior playoff tournament at Talbot Park.

Newmarket scored singles runs in the fourth and fifth innings, the latter on an inside-the-park home run by catcher Jayson Miller.

Newmarket rebounded from an 8-2 loss to the High Park Braves in the opening game of the four-team, double-knockout tournament by blanking the Leaside Lightning 5-0 earlier Sunday behind a seven-hitter by Ryan Wolfe.

Ian Rettie keyed a five-run second-inning outburst with a two-run double against Leaside.
