Town clerk Bob Panizza is serving as a temporary replacement following the termination of Aurora’s chief administrative officer.

Mr. Panizza, the town’s director of corporate services, will serve as the acting CAO for the next few weeks.

He expects to get more direction about an interim CAO at the next council meeting, which is scheduled for Sept. 9 at 7 p.m.

“We are in a state of flux at the moment. I am here to assist staff day-to-day,” Mr. Panizza said.

Former CAO John Rogers’ contract was terminated, more than halfway through his six-year term. Mr. Rogers has said  he could not comment on more details, such as the reason for the termination. Since this is a personnel issue, Mayor Phyllis Morris couldn’t release details, either.

Mr. Rogers was appointed CAO in 2005.
