The Peninsula Restaurant and Riverside Patio has once again been named a winner of the Eat Smart! award by the region.
The Holmes Point restaurant has won the award every year since the program began a decade ago.
Also named were Oriental Delight on Riverglen Drive in Keswick, The Briars Resort in Jackson’s Point and The Cornerhouse Bistro in Keswick.
Our Lady of the Lake school cafeteria also took top honours.
Eat Smart! awards restaurants, cafeterias and food take-outs that meet exceptional standards in food safety, healthy food choices and smoke-free dining.
This year, 91 York establishments earned Eat Smart! awards.
Those winning must have exceptional standards in food safety including kitchen staff certified in safe food handling and a variety of healthier food choices on the menu.
Eat Smart! winners are nominated by public health inspectors and undergo a review.
