It was a breakthrough year for the annual Georgina Studio Tour and Sale with unprecedented numbers of visitors to the various sites around town.
This year’s was the best yet, tour co-ordinator Suzanne Cotton said
There were many people from the area who had not been aware of the tour before, despite this being its 14th year, she added.
“Many of the touring people were glad to see out-of-town artists (who) had joined in displaying at our tour,” Mrs. Cotton said.
Most had praise for the extensive network of signs leading visitors to the 12 locations, featuring 22 artists and crafters. Four signs with balloons attached, were lost to vandalism, she said.
“Overall, the tour was a great success for the area. We have bigger and better plans for next year.”
