Expanding Markham Stouffville Hospital moved a bit closer to reality, thanks to a $500,000 donation from a land developer.
The privately owned Times Group Corporation has donated smaller amounts to the hospital before.
“We think we are a part of the community and the hospital is the most important part of it,” Hashem Ghadaki, president of the corporation said.
“When you need it, it has to be there.”
The company’s most recent project is a 450-unit development on Bayview Avenue and Hwy 7.
The long-delayed expansion of the Ninth Line facility is slated to begin in 2010.
If you want to make a donation, check out www.msh.on.ca or call 905-472-7059.
