Markham

Some places might mark Pakistan’s independence with a solemn event, but not in Markham.

Rides, a wide variety of food and live music are planned for the 15th annual Pakistani Independence Day celebrations Aug. 3 at Markham Fairgrounds.

The fun runs from noon to 11:30 p.m. The concert is from 7:30 to 11:30 p.m. Admission is $10. Children younger than six get in free.
