Play resumes Wednesday as Canada hosts Bermuda and West Indies cricket teams for the Scotiabank Series at the Maple Leaf Cricket Grounds in King Township.
The one-day international tri-series started yesterday when Canada faced Bermuda.
West Indies faces Bermuda today before meeting Canada Friday to complete round-robin play.
The top two teams advance to Sunday’s final.
Admission to round-robin matches is free. Tickets are $10 and available at the gate for Sunday’s final. All matches start at 11 a.m.
Peewee Hawks win CNE opener
Eric Telford led off the game with a home run and Darian Dalton also homered as the Newmarket Hawks doubled Richmond Hill Phoenix 2 8-4 Monday morning at the CNE-Lions Peewee Baseball Tournament.
Newmarket is due back in action Thursday against the winner of a game between Niagara Falls and Georgetown.
Senior Hawks delayed in bid for GTBL series sweep
The Newmarket Hawks will seek to complete a sweep of a Greater Toronto Baseball League best-of-three quarter-final playoff series tonight against the Martingrove White Sox.
Newmarket holds a 1-0 series lead after capturing a 6-2 victory in the opening game last Tuesday in Newmarket.
Rain postponed game two Thursday.
If necessary, a third game is scheduled for Thursday night at Martingrove.
All games start at 7:30 p.m.
