A Newmarket man has been charged in connection with a child pornography investigation.

Acting on information from an online probe, York Regional Police raided Newmarket home Monday, seizing two computer towers and digital media.

Robert Raymond Close, 57, of Newmarket is charged with possession of child pornography and making available child pornography.

The charges have not been proven in court.

Mr. Close was held in custody and is scheduled for a court appearance Tuesday.
