Taylor Pendrith was in contention during the final round of the Canadian Junior Golf Association’s Nike Golf Junior Championship at Piper’s Heath Golf Club near Milton before finishing in a three-way tie for second place when the competition concluded Thursday.
Competing in the Boys 17 to 19 group, the 17-year-old Richmond Hill resident was 14 over par through the three-round competition at 230 (74-76-80).
Pendrith finished three shots behind winner Alex Dumais of Caledon East, who was 11 over par at 227 (79-75-73).
Among other Richmond Hill residents that took to the links, Adam Shaw, 15, finished fourth in the Boys 14-16 division after going 25 over par through the 54-hole event with a 241 (80-81-80).
Shaw finished three strokes behind winner Dan Boyd of Forest, Ont., who was 22 over par at 238 (77-82-79).
In the Boys 13 and under division, Tae Won Kim, 13, placed fifth after going 22 over par at 238 (79-82-77).
He finished 16 shots behind winner Samuel Hebert of St-Thomas, Ont., at six over par with a 222 (74-76-72).
