Boyd boys get invite to Team Canada softball camp

Newmarket Stingers’ teammates Kevin Boyd, a pitcher, and Stuart Boyd, a shortstop, have been invited to attend this week’s 26-player selection camp for Team Canada’s junior softball team.

The pair — no relation to each other — leave today for the four-day camp in Clearwater, Florida, which will produce a 17-player Canadian roster for the 8th ISF junior men’s world fast-pitch championships to be held next month in Whitehorse, Yukon.

Both midget-aged players play for the Newmarket Stingers entry in the Oshawa City & District Softball League.
