Lefthander Tim Sinyard scattered five hits over six innings and struck out eight batters as the Newmarket Hawks defeated the Aurora Jays 4-1 in Toronto Baseball Association action last night at the Aurora Leisure Complex. Newmarket scored three runs in the second inning on an error and a bloop single by Ian Rettie to break a scoreless tie.
Newmarket takes its 2-0 record into action Saturday night at Christie Pits against the High Park Braves.
