Canadian Olympian Lindsay Seemann and Newmarket Stingrays’ teammate Matthew Swanston have been named the Canadian entry for the world junior swimming championships to be held in Monterrey, Mexico in July.

Stingrays’ head coach Alan Swanston was named head coach for the Canadian entry that will stage a one-week training camp in Houston prior to the competition in Monterrey from July 8 to 13.

The 15-year-old Seemann qualified for the Beijing Olympics last month in the 200-metre backstroke at the Canadian Olympic trials. Swanston, 17, finished fifth in the men’s 200 backstroke.
