Dinner event kick starts fund for Bruce’s Mill 5k run

Before any running event, participants are urged to fuel up.

Stouffville’s Boston Pizza will help kick off The Mill 5, a 5K run and walk and kids fun run, with a fundraising dinner and silent auction Wednesday

From 6 to 9 p.m., Mayor Wayne Emmerson and Toronto Maple Leaf Assistant Coach Keith Acton will serve dinners.

The Hoover Park Drive restaurant will donate a portion of the proceeds to The Conservation Foundation of Greater Toronto, the fund that helps to maintain Bruce’s Mill Conservation Area.

The Mill 5 Run & Walk is taking place Oct. 5 at the Stouffville Road park.
