Changes have been made to staff at the Town of Whitchurch-Stouffville:
• Deputy Clerk Andrew Brouwer announced his resignation yesterday. He will hold the same job with the Town of Markham effective Nov. 26. He worked in Stouffville for two and a half years.
• Council also approved organizational changes last week.
The development services department has been restructured into two departments: engineering and capital works and planning and building services.
“The town’s capital budget and engineering projects have grown significantly and will continue for some years to come,” CAO David Cash said. “The two departments will facilitate better management of the town’s engineering and major sewer, water and road capital projects ... with this change, all planning and building services will remain together to meet the needs of residents and developers.”
Tom Parry, director of engineering and capital projects, is responsible for infrastructure planning, engineering design, development engineering review and construction, as well as the town’s capital infrastructure and parks projects.
Andrew McNeely has been promoted to director of planning and building services. He is responsible for development review, long range planning including transportation systems, urban design, geographic information systems and administration of the Ontario Building Code.
Town council welcomed former City of Oshawa staffer Andrew Drozd as its new manager of planning last week.
