Why are plans for plant moving forward?

Re: Town escapes peaker plant list, Nov. 11.

I can’t help but wonder why the province is considering a massive, inefficient gas-fired (banned in Europe) electric generating station in a greenbelt.

The Town of East Gwillimbury says it doesn’t have any say in this matter and that it is helpless.

Mayor Jamie Young has stated he is opposed to this plant.

Why, then, is the town not screaming, “No!”

Why are residents not screaming, “No!”

Where is MPP Julia Munro?

They either don’t care or they do what they are told. A sad bunch, really.
