York Regional Police have released an image of a man believed to be connected to the violent carjacking of a Markham woman about nine months ago.
At about 11:35 p.m. Oct. 20, the 61-year-old woman, who lives in the Brimley Road and Steeles Avenue area, was getting out of her Toyota Corolla when she was attacked by five men who grabbed her and threw her to the ground.
The men demanded her keys and then forced her back into the Corolla at gunpoint, police said.
They assaulted her and demanded her bank PIN number, then forced her to withdraw money from several bank machines.
The men left the woman in her car in the Don Mills Road and Sheppard Avenue area and she called police.
The woman was hospitalized with minor injuries in the attack.
The image was obtained recently from an ATM machine near the Brimley and Steeles area, police said.
Police are working with limited descriptions of the men wanted in the case.
