Longo’s hit a hole-in-one with its annual golf tournament in Vaughan this month.

The grocery chain’s Fore Kids’ Sake charity golf tournament, July 8, raised $150,000.

More than 400 golfers came out to Kleinberg Golf Club to support the Longo’s Family Foundation, which works with local charities.

“The Longo’s Family Charitable Foundation carries out its mission to dedicate fundraising to the support of children’s and women’s charities,” says Rosanne Longo, who co-ordinates the event. “We concentrate on health and fostering a sense of family and community and our strategic partnerships reflect that strong focus.”

The proceeds are to be distributed among several charities, including The Hospital for Sick Children, Markham Stouffville Hospital, and Hoops All-Stars Basketball Camps.

The tournament, in its 19th year, has raised $1.5 million since it began.
