Get ready to sink your teeth into a new season of Vaughan Vipers.
Although the Provincial Junior A Hockey League’s 2008-09 season won’t begin until September, the Vipers are preparing for the upcoming campaign and released their preseason schedule this week.
The Vipers play a total of seven exhibition tilts, starting Aug. 20 in Orangeville against the Crushers at 7:30 p.m.
The following day the Vipers play the Markham Waxers, the team that knocked them out of the playoffs last year, at the York Ice Gardens at 7:30 p.m.
The Vipers then travel to Aurora Aug. 22 for a game against the Tigers at 7:30 p.m.
On Aug. 25, the Vipers play the defending league champion Oakville Blades at Westwood Arena at 8:30 p.m.
The Vipers take to the road for an Aug. 29 game against last year’s division champion St. Michael’s Buzzers at St. Michael’s College School Arena at 7:30 p.m.
The final two preseason games are at Westwood Arena, Sept. 3 against the Aurora Tigers at 7:45 p.m. and Sept. 6 versus the Orangeville Crushers at 7:30 p.m.
On a side note, the Vipers host their annual golf tournament Aug. 6 at the Kleinberg Golf Course in Vaughan. Tee-off time is set for 1 p.m.
