Golfers get head start on tourney

Published on Jul 17, 2008

The 370 golfers taking part in Tuesday’s Whitchurch-Stouffville Mayor’s Charity Tournament can get a head start the night before.

Boston Pizza in Stouffville is hosting a pre-tourney celebration Monday from 7 to 9 p.m.

Each participant attending receives a free mulligan, or free shot, to use at the tournament the next day.

Mulligans will not be available to buy on tourney day.

A trip valued at $2,000 from Stonehouse Travel will be up for grabs.

One attendee will win a free foursome at either Ballantrae or Sleepy Hollow country club, the tourney hosts.

Mayor Emmerson and Stouffville’s Keith Acton, assistant coach of the Toronto Maple Leafs, will be in attendance.

A portion of proceeds from the evening goes to the mayor’s charitable fund by Boston Pizza.
