Two people escaped serious injuries after a single vehicle crash in Vaughan over the lunch hour.

At about 12:40 p.m., a driver lost control of a vehicle in the southbound lanes of Hwy. 400 just north of Major MacKenzie Drive.

The vehicle then crashed into the guide-rail that separates the north and southbound lanes of the highway, according to Ontario Provincial Police Sgt. Cam Woolley.

Two people inside the vehicle suffered non-life-threatening injuries in the crash, he said.

Police were probing what caused the driver to lose control.

Both the north and southbound passing lanes were closed while police investigated.
