McRae wins golf tourney

Patrick McRae fired a two-round, 11-over par 155 (80-75) to win his age group division at the recent Canadian Junior Golf Association’s Junior Open at Lakeridge Links Golf Club near Whitby.

Entered in the Boys 14-16 division, the 16-year-old Markham resident won by six strokes over Samuel Harris of Toronto.

In the same category, Brett Geiser, 14, of Markham finished in a two-way tie for third place at 19 over with a 163 (81-82).

At the recent Mizuno CJGA National Golf Championship, Nicholas Crozier recorded a four-round 321 and was 33 shots over par to finish fourth in his age group class at the National Pines Golf Club in Innisfil.

Entered in the Boys 13 and under group, the Unionville resident finished 15 shots behind winner Samuel Hebert of St. Thomas, who was 18 over par through the four-round event at 306.
